About Marion County:

Marion County was created November 3, 1835, from Izard County. Originally called Searcy County, it was renamed in 1836 in honor of Francis Marion, a Revolutionary War General. Yellville is the county seat. Prior to its occupation by white settlers, the County Seat was an Indian village. It is one of the oldest settlements in Arkansas.

The landscape of Marion County is punctuated by the rugged Ozark Mountains, inhabited for years by bluff-dwelling Native Americans, and later by European settlers. One third of the county is filled with crystal-clear waters including Crooked Creek, Bull Shoals Lake and part of the Buffalo River National Park that offer many water activities and features such as camping, hiking, canoeing, hunting and fishing. The Lower Buffalo Wilderness Area is the state's largest wilderness area. Bull Shoals Lake has 19 parks scattered around its 1,000-mile shoreline.

The Ozark villages are populated by crafters and bluegrass musicians from spring to late fall, bringing a large number of visitors to this area. As of the 2000 census, Marion County had a population of 16,140.

The area sees approximately one half million visitors to the Ozarks and Lower Buffalo National River park and wilderness. Most will drive on US Hwy 62 to get there, passing within a 1/4 mile of this farm's location.

Property has both sides of one of the premier smallmouth bass fishing streams in the USA flowing through. It is within 1 hour of Branson, MO, yet very remote. It probably has the best in "healthy" flowing/year-round water of any section of Crooked Creek.
